A Fruitful Flow
“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.”
Ezekiel 47:12
My Takeaways
Something Old
A river will flow from The Temple. (Ezekiel 47:12)
Since I am the Temple (1 Corinthians 3:16), what is flowing from me? Something brings life or something that takes life?
- All kinds of growth-fruit and trees
- Never die-turn brown and fall
- Always have fruit
- The leaves bring healing.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23a
“Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’” (Berean Study Bible) John 7:38
The depth of effectiveness and fruitfulness will increase the more we surrender our will to His.
Something New
This river will even flow through the desert. (Ezekiel 47:8)
Something to Do
Don’t do anything to stop the flow of the living water.
