Happy Life

Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
Psalm 32:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

David celebrates his life of forgiveness by remember his life living with unconfessed sin.

When we refuse to confess:

Our body feels it. (Psalm 32:3)

Our soul experiences it. (Psalm 32:4)

If you can sleep and sin, check your salvation.

Blessed living according to David.

  • Acknowledge our sin, don’t ignore the warning signs.
  • Seek forgiveness, don’t be unruly.
  • Accept the forgiveness, and praise the Lord
  • Live in joy and blessedness.

Something New

What is the one thing I seek the most? (Psalm 27:4)

Something to Do

Live the happy life.

  1. -There is so so much good stuff in the Psalms in today’s reading that it’s hard to even know where to begin. My journal for today is full. I noted many truths about God.
-One thing that really jumped out at me today was: “My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, ‘LORD, I am coming.’” ( Ps 27:8) God desires fellowship with us, time spent talking with us. How cool is that! The God of the universe desires time spent with me. May my heart respond each day, “Lord, I am coming!”
-The other thing that really stood out to me today was: “And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone!” (Ps 32:5b) So freeing!! As Wendy noted, after we confess a sin, God forgives us and so we, too, must forgive ourselves.

    1. I noticed this too, that God would extend a prsonal invitation to “Come and talk with me”. Amazing!

  2. Good morning!

My Something Old this morning was the reminder that it is my guilt and sin that weakens me (Ps 31:10), but, we read in several places how God is the source of our strength.

My Something New is the reference to God as our Shepherd:

Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.
    Psalms 28:9 NLT

This image is comforting, especially in light of Psalm 32:7, that He is our hiding place and protection.

    Something To Do:

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “ Lord , I am coming.”
    Psalms 27:8 NLT

    Or, as in the NIV:
“My heart says of you, ” Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek!”

I love when they put exclamation points.
Seek his face! Go talk to Him!

    Have a great day!
    Melissa
