  1. My takeaway this morning was the same as Wendy’s – all the descriptions of God’s character. There were two that I NEEDED to be reminded of this morning: The LORD is: slow to get angry (v 8) and good to everyone (v 9). This morning I made the mistake (as I often do) of checking my work emails on my phone before getting into God’s Word – and someone who I really struggle with being good, kind, merciful, compassionate, gracious and slow to anger toward sent 3 emails that contained misinformation, were not helpful and actually made my life more difficult (she tends to push her work off on others)… so I fired back responses to each of them that were FILLED with such anger and condemnation! I immediately sought forgiveness from the Lord … and started reading this morning filled with such a mix of emotions and unable to concentrate – BUT Psalm 145 just met me where I am at and I am reminded to continue to set my eyes on Him as He is my hope (v 15) and he helps me when feel bent beneath my load (of bitterness) …

    Praise the Lord!!

  2. My key verse today was 145:4 “Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power”.
My children believe, but are not walking with the Lord. I find myself in bad attitudes towards them for it, instead of speaking words proclaiming His love, faithfulness, power…..
Holy Spirit help me speak words that proclaim your power!

  3. -As Wendy did, I felt myself drawn to praise by the words of Psalm 145. I also noted all the truths about God found in today’s reading.

-One other thing I noted was the contrast between God and man. Ps 144:3 says “What are humans that you should take notice of them, mere mortals that you should think about them?” That is contrasted with Ps 89 that says “For who in heaven can compare with the LORD?. . .Where is anyone as might as you, O LORD?”

  4. I have always loved Psalm 145 as a lovely song of praise! (I also find it interesting that it is a Hebrew acrostic poem )
However, today I realized that this is the perfect place to send people when they ask, “Who is God?” This Psalm answers that question beautifully with it’s lovely descriptive language. The LORD is all of this! Thanks be to God!
