Something to Do
Make myself at home in my place, and live loud for Jesus.
The last few readings – with the allotment of land – has been difficult for me to find a nugget. But I’m so thankful for Wendy’s lessons.
I’m still wondering and praying for my allotment of land. I have NO idea what my place is. What my purpose is. Lord will you show me?
Joshua 18:1-3 stood out to me. There were 7 tribes that had not yet moved into their land. Joshua’s question struck me and made me think of my own life. How long will I wait to take possession of what is mine in Christ? How long will in the flesh when I have the power of the spirit in me? God has given me full victory in Jesus…have I fully possessed and moved into that place of victory. Don’t delay take possession and settle in today. Don’t neglect it!
This section of Scripture and Wendy’s teaching remind me of Acts 17: 24-28, when Paul speaks to the men of Athens: (24) “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. (25) And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. (26) From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. (27) God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far away from each one of us. (28) For in Him we live and move and have our being. …”
I love this section of Scripture; it brings great comfort to me knowing that my good and faithful Father God is in charge of how long I will live (the times set for me) and the exact place I will live. As He moved me from place to place, I can clearly see His hand and the truth of verse 27 as each time He moved me and my family, He was clearly drawing us to Him. And in one particular move, I did, indeed, “find Him.”
And since then, more and more as I get older, I am praising Him, so grateful to Him for my life, for my breath, and for everything He has provided for me. As Elyse Fitzpatrick says in her book, “Found In Him,” “From beginning to end, it’s all about Him.”
Val, this spoke so much to my heart. Thank you for sharing that. ❤️
Praying for you this morning dear Val ❤️
This teaching brings to mind the saying, “Bloom where you’re planted.”!
I love the idea of staying within our boundaries. To me this is comforting to know that this is what God wills.
