RTW February 27

Hey wonderful RTW Friends!!!
This Thursday is our February Facebook Live.

Our guest is Whitney Capps. She is going to share her insights and expertise on the law and it’s application to us.

At The Center Of Everything

The tribal divisions will camp beneath their family banners on all four sides of the Tabernacle, but at some distance from it.
Number 2:2b

My Takeaways

Something Old

God ordered the tribes. He is a God of order.

Something New

Some things should never change… God should be at the center of everything.

His Presence now, dwells in us, but it’s up to us to keep Him in the center.

Order our lives…

  • Making choices that we know will please
  • Partaking in activities that we know will honor Him
  • Obeying what He asks us to do
  • Aligning our lives with His will and His Word

Something to Do

Do the work to keep my life centered around God.

  1. Working for a large corporation years back, they were really into team building which I was thankful for, working in a supportive group environment is great. At one of their team building sessions, they asked us to break up into groups, under our birth sign. I told the large group it was against my faith, the bible forbids me to be a partaker in reading my sign, astrology, horoscopes, etc., it is a form of divination. I sat back, choosing not to participate, I would not compromise God and His Word. They had a discussion, their decision was an answer to prayer, they wanted me to participate and said I could choose my own title and several others joined me in that group. When you make God the “center”, He will bring honor into that situation!
Proverbs 3:4 Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.

  2. I like order too. I love that about God.
I love this reading about the family/tribes and their banners. My kids love the Toby Mac song I added below “Till The Day I Die”. He sings, “I will life your banner high, Lord I’ll life your banner high.”
It’s a fun song, that part made me think of the song and the family banners in the reading.

“For all the firstborn males are mine.” 2:13
Firstborn sons were set apart for the Lord.
This made me think of my own little guy. This is playing out in his life right now. He asked Jesus into his heart when he was 5. He is 6 1/2 now and he wants to get baptized and we are planning it now at church. Our church has an amazing children’s ministry and when they have baptisms for the elementary age group, it’s truly special. I am grateful for the precious blessing he is to our family. He loves Jesus and has such a big heart. I know God has set him apart and has amazing things planed for his life.

God help me to keep you in the center of everything, for I know that is your will for my life. ❤️

      1. I love it too! If you search on YouTube “Refit till the day I die” you can also do a fun workout to it 🙂 ?

  3. I love that God is a god of order and structure. I am wired that way and but often can take my desire for order and turn it into controlling people and situations. I need to embrace the order God has set up and go with His flow. Surrender to His control and order and not fight against Him.

As I was reading God gave me a specfic thing to do to obey. It wasn’t really related to the reading but in response to a text I’d received before I started reading. It’s not a huge thing but something I don’t feel super excited about and feel like I don’t have the time for this week. But I’m choosing to obey and follow his order and direction, not my desire to control my schedule. I want to keep His presence at my center and know obedience is so key in that!

  4. My word for this year was Joy. The joy of the Lord is my strength. Joy of my salvation. I felt impressed to start getting rid of stuff I don’t need. Started with my yarn (sorted out what I didn’t want); Went to my 2 closets. After sorting through my clothes (there was 6 bags that went to the Mission). Started out with 6 totes full of clothes – got down to 4 1/2 totes. I have half a closet for my clothes and have room to move other things around. But with each thing I tossed I felt joy coming into my life. I have a lot more to do but everyday more joy comes. After reading this lesson God is starting to bring a more order to my life. I can feel it and sense it. I did some studying and learned so much about the banners(Lion, Man, Calf and Eagle) that surrounded the Tabernacle is the same which is depicted in Rev. 4:7 surrounding the throne of God. So much more that was revealed. The God of Order!!!

    1. I love this! I am in a very similar place! My word this year is also Joy, and I have the same verse, The Joy of the Lord is my strength! After watching Tidy Up, I have been going through my home and getting rid of stuff that doesn’t spark Joy for me! It is so freeing!! I also did Priscilla Shier’s Bible Study “Breathe” and that helped me see ALOT about the excess in my life in all areas. Here are some songs you may already listen to but I sing daily as my anthems for walking with the word Joy this year! ?

  5. I am married to a man of order and structure (sometimes I think that is his idol!) and I don’t always like it, but it was great to see that pulled out of today’s lesson-God likes order! I can appreciate that more now.

  6. It has been amazing thinking of ALL of the details…I often find myself wondering “who is taking all this down? Who is keeping track of the calendar for cleansing? Who is making sure these 603,000 people line up?” It truly is amazing.
