Death Gives Life
When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first.
1 Corinthians 15:36b
My Takeaways
Something Old
- Buried in brokenness ~ raised in glory (1 Corinthians 15:43)
- Buried in weakness ~ raised in strength (1 Corinthians 15:43b)
- Buried in the natural ~ raised in spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:44)
Something New
Death comes before life.
Something to Do
Plan and attend my daily funeral, the life I want is waiting for me.
My Takeaways: The importance of the resurrection
Something Old: Today I was drawn into what Paul had to say about speaking in tongues. This has always been a confusing subject for me. My mom speaks in tongues and it has always been a mystery to me. Today’s reading did not make this subject any clearer for me. I still have lots of questions. Is speaking in tongues a spiritual gift that people have today, self induced, group induce, or satanically induced? I do not know. I may not ever understand this mystery- but I don’t think I need to trip on it since it has nothing to do with my salvation. My salvation rest in Jesus Christ and that’s the message that I want to get out to others, this truth will strengthen unbelievers and help them grow closer to Him. So I guess that’s what I need to concern myself with – not the mystery of speaking in tongues.
Something New: 1 Corinthians taught me a great truth today. Faith in Jesus Christ frees me from the fear of death and from my slavery to Satin. I don’t have to be held hostage by the fear of death. Death is a defeated foe. Death is the way to life, and it is to be the way of life for me.
Something To Do: Believe wholeheartedly in the Resurrection of Jesus and my resurrection after death. Know that I have a saving faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
