  1. Thank you Wendy for this lesson and also for the link you put there. I found it very interesting and helpful. I also thank you for pointing out that it is about progress, not perfection… That is really taking pressure off… My to do: keep on watching carefully what is contributing to holiness and what not. Open my eyes, ears and heart for God and His Holy Spirit to understand what will help in my pursuing of holiness… Have a great day all of you!!!

  2. My Takeaways: More on Ezekiels Temple

Something Old: Good lesson Wendy. Enjoyed reading the link. I found the same verse in todays reading worth talking about. “And this is the basic law of the Temple: absolute holiness.” -Ezekiel 43:12 Holiness was the whole idea of the Tabernacle and first Temple, but in their sinfulness, God’s people could not keep these high expectations. They could not continue to please and worship the holy God from a pure heart. I so agree that it is important for me to understand the concept of Holiness in order that I may progress in my Christian growth. Absolute holiness is not something I am going to see or “achieve” this side of heaven.  It’s impossible for me to be absolutely holy on this earth. Only Jesus was absolutely holy and sinless, but the call for my eternal life is absolute holiness. Faith in Jesus will lead me in this direction – and I do believe I can grow in holiness in this life. How? By staying devoted to God. God’s grace gives ultimate absolute holiness in heaven. I want absolute holiness.  I want to move toward absolute holiness in my life today. Thanks to Jesus Christ this is possible. Apart from Him I will never achieve right standing before God. Only by His blood am I made clean. Only by His sacrifice am I washed of my shortcomings.

Something New: Psalm 24:3-6. “Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and who never tell lies. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have right standing with God their Savior. They alone may enter God’s presence and worship the God of Israel.” On my own, I could never make my own heart pure. Someone else has to do it, and Someone else has. Holiness is not something I achieve; it is something I receive. Christ has dealt with my imperfections and provided me with perfection in the eyes of His Father. Though I once was unclean, I am now clean forever! I am able to ascend that holy hill, enter into the Temple, and stand in the presence of my Holy God, not because of any- thing I have done, but because of what Christ has done for me. Praise God for my holiness!

Something To Do: Create some “holy places” in my life. Take time to pray, read the Bible, go to church and listen to a service or worship music.  Even if it’s just 15 minutes it’s a start in setting up and moving toward my “Holy Places.”
