Safeguards Against Sin Defilement
You defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and your dishonest trade. So, I brought fire out from within you, and it consumed you.
Ezekiel 28:18
My Takeaways
Something Old
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. (NIV) Deut. 6:4
- Our Mind
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what. (NIV) Romans 12:2 - Our Soul
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. (NIV) Psalm 62:1 - Our Body
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (NIV) 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Our Strength
Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! (ESV) 1 Chronicles 16:11
Something New
The funeral song for Tyre… “You were… You were.” Oh that good things will be said following my “You were’s.”
Something to Do
Keep myself safeguarded.
Thanks Wendy for today’s lesson! I loved it so much. My something to do- is the Love God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. It reminds me of one of my favorite songs Love the Lord by Lincoln Brewster. To Love God my first love and to keep Him first above everything else.
My Takeaways: Love Him, Praise Him, and Thank Him
Something Old: God is responding to a disobedient and broken people. God is better to man then he deserves and we are worst off than we can imagine.
Something New: “‘I am a god! I sit on the divine throne of the heart of the sea’” (28:2). Tyre’s King is prideful! But as I continued to read I found verses 11-19 starting to get very interesting. Are these verses about the king of Tyre or Satan or both? I wish I had more time today to dig into these verses more deeply. Just maybe when I let pride get the best of me and think I am “a god” then I am taking the risk of interweaving my life story with Satan’s. I don’t know. But it is frightening to think about it and definitely something to ponder. I guess to counteract this poison I need to depend, believe and trust what I know is true and not let my pride get the best of me.
Something To Do: Paslm 111
1 Praise the Lord!

and all his commandments are trustworthy.
8 They are forever true,
to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.

What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!
10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.
Praise him forever!
Very powerful lesson… I so want this immeasurably more life. The peace that goes with it and the rest I will feel then. I can already feel it more and more since I am finding my way back to God again. We got to get back to our first love. That is my to do…. Go after my first love again and then the rest will fall into place!!
