We should do what “they” do.
We shouldn’t Say what “they say.”
- “Nothing will shake me; I’ll always be happy and never have trouble.” (NIV) (Psalm 10:6)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV) (John 16:33)
- “God has forgotten; He covers His face and never sees.” (NIV) (Psalm 10:11).
She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” (NIV) (Genesis 16:13) El Roi-the God who Sees

My Takeaways: What an awesome God I Serve
Something Old: What stood out from my reading today was how God takes care of His people. In the middle of unsured times, depressing news, and endless disappointments, I can live an unwavering life, because the God, in whom I trust, is faithful and true.
Something New: Psalm 1 helps me to understand that genuine happiness is found in aligning myself with God, His Word, and His purposes for my life—not in seeking my own way. I love this Psalm. It helps me to realize that I have control of my life by choosing a faithful life that can be used by God. God promises to watch over me when I choose His path. To achieve anything worthwhile I must have God close to my heart.
Something To Do: Apply God’s wisdom in everything I do so the fruit that I bear will receive God’s approval. Mediate on the truths God has given me through His word. Don’t let the worldly ways suck me in. Love God and spend time knowing and thinking about who He is.
Psalm 33 resonated with me today, especially verses 20-22, “We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.” Such comforting words.
I also love verse 15 which reminds us that God made our hearts, and therefore understands everything we do. There is so much reassurance here. I must have really needed that today.
Even though I’ve read the Bible for many years, God often allows me to find new meaning and I marvel at the words and wonder why I didn’t notice that verse before. I love that.
That is so true. I think the Holy Spirit reveals to us exactly what we need to understand at exactly the right time.
Yes I agree! Isn’t that just the best?! God always knows what we need before we are even aware.
