  1. Oh how I’ve loved the last couple of days readings. They keep reminding me to be thankful and to remember His goodness and faithfulness.

111:9 stood out today. “He has paid a full ransom for his people. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!” Jesus paid it all in full at the cross for me! No payment plan. Not in installments. PAID IN FULL!

Wendy I too have been (still am in so many areas) a wanna be. I love the reminder that my only “wanna be” is to wanna be like my Dad! Working on this.

  2. Like Mary, I was also drawn to Psalm 111, particularly verses 7-10, “All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy. They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity….Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!”

The word and the characteristic of “integrity” has always been important to me. As children we learned that integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. God is ALWAYS watching and we can trust him. He asks us to obey his commandments faithfully and with integrity. Integrity has several meanings- honesty, soundness, unity, completeness, and whole. If you think about it, all of these definitions can be a part of obeying God with integrity.

Then there is the section Mary commented on about his paying our ransom. So beautiful!

Finally the reminder that loving and respecting God is the foundation of true wisdom and obeying his commandments helps us grow in wisdom.

For me these 4 verses are just packed with good news and reassurance! As the Psalmist says, “Praise him forever!”

  3. Agree 100% with what you girls said. You said it all and said it well- so I’ll dive unto a different Psalm to look at today.

My Takeaways: Let the World Know who my God Is

Something Old : Psalm 111 Hallelujah and praise the Lord! God is Good all the Time – All the time God is Good! Wisdom comes from knowing God.

Something New: Psalm107: 6, 13, 18, 28 “Lord Help! They cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress.” Four times this phrase is written. I am never so far off that God cannot rescue me. God will deliver me when I humble myself and cry out to Him. God uses consequences to bring me to the end of myself when I become rebellious and disobedient. Just because I love and follow Christ doesn’t exempt me from the storms of life. It is often in those storms that I experience His love in a greater way. Jesus is the way, the bread from heaven, the living water, and the giver of rest, praise His name!

Something To Do: God is too glorious to keep to myself I must shout out the joy he brings by telling others.
