The Chains Are Gone

In that wonderful day when the LORD gives his people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains.
Isaiah 14:3

My Takeaways

Something Old

  • Israel’s Wonderful Day-

~Upon their release from 70 years of captivity in Babylon.

No sorrow, No fear, No slavery, No chains

  • My/Your Wonderful Day-

No sorrow, No fear, No Slavery, No chains

~Upon our trust in faith in Jesus Christ, and surrender to His work in our lives.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come. Luke 4:17-19

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (NIV) John 10:9-10

  • Our Wonderful Day-

~Upon the day of His triumphant return for His Bride-the church

Revelation 21:1-4

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.  And I saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

Something New

Oh Glorious Day!!!

Something to Do

Live like my chains are gone…so others will desire to have their chains removed.

  1. My Takeaways: God is in Control

Something Old: God is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent. “I have a plan for the whole earth, a hand of judgement upon all the nations.” Isaiah 14:26

Something New: This truth gives me encouragement and hope. Since God is all knowing he has knowledge of the past and future, and if He is in control of all the nations of the earth, then He is also in control of my life. Nothing escapes God’s knowledge. He controls everything; nothing happens without His permission.

Something To Do: Praise God for His power and His plan.
