Don’t Forget His Name

Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God.
Psalm 20:7

My Takeaways

Something Old

I trust in

  • My means (chariots)
  • My strength (horses)
  • My ways (planning for victory/battle)
  • My ideas (planning for victory/battle)
  • Others’ opinions (stopped trusting my own)

“Those who make God and His Name their praise may make God and His Name their trust.” ~ Matthew Henry

Something New

Psalm 20:5
May we shout for joy…

Shout is the Hebrew word ranan  (raw-nan’).  It means to be overcome; to cry out, shout for joy, give a ringing cry; to give a ringing cry.

When God rescues and delivers me, I am overcome. I want my response to always be a ringing cry for all to hear;  a ringing cry for all to hear not just for God to hear.

Something to Do

Trust God first before I exhaust myself.
