My Takeaways: Security and Assurance
Something Old: “I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge” (62:5-8). You got to love David’s heart. Do you think he knew when he wrote these words that hundreds of years later people would still be reading, pieces of his heart? I love these verses, David makes it simple- when I place all my hope and trust in Jesus, I have nothing to fear because He won’t let me down.
Something New: Psalm 66- God answers prayers. He saved the Israelites and continues to save today. This is a beautiful Psalm. God takes me through trails to strenghten me, to give me more wisdom, to discipline me in doing what is right and helps me to see that He is the giver of life and I should always cherish that gift. I will praise the work of God in my life. Thanks Wendy for opening my eyes to this. My assignment is to reflect the glory of God to those around me, both through my words and my deeds. I am to praise the Lord so that the world may know Him, who He is and what He has done.
Something To Do: I will Praise Him for his Goodness and Grace!
