When Circumstances Turn…

Psalm 3

My Takeaways

Something Old

When circumstances turn against us don’t blame God, seek Him

When circumstances turn against us…God is for us.

He is:

  • Our defense
  • Our glory
  • Our head lifter
  • Our answer
  • Our sleep aid
  • Our avenger
  • Our victory

Something New

Something to Do

Don’t give way and weight to our circumstances, but give way and weight to God and who is to us and in us!

  1. This post should have been posted on April 28th. My post on April 28 should have been posted here, oops.
That’s what I get for getting behind. 🙁

    My Takeaways: Major Crisis

Something Old: David was a man after God’s own heart, but that didn’t free him from troubles in life. It was his continuous faith and trust in God that carried him through the valleys.

    Something New: 2 Samuel 16:1
    Three Kinds of Men
ZIBA – took advantage of David’s distress and manipulated him to make one final decision as he left office.
DAVID – The stress of leaving Jerusalem so quickly weakened David’s ability to discern truth from error.
SHIMEI – thought that, because David was powerless and on the run, he could verbally abuse David without consequences.

They were all wrong in their assessment of the situation.

Something To Do: While in a crisis situation I need to remember that circumstances are rarely as they appear. Don’t rush into making quick decisions without checking with God first. How I respond to a crisis in my life reveals much about myself and what I really believe about God.
