RTW April 1
A New Grip
“Sir,” Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all the happened to to us?…”
Judges 6:13
My Takeaways
Something Old
Our weakness in Christ is greater than our strength apart from Him.
“Go in the strength you have…” Judges 6:14b
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (NIV) 2 Corinthians 12:8-10
So, take a new grip with your tired hands, stand firm on your shaky legs, and mark out a straight, smooth path for your feet so that those who follow you, though weak and lame, will not fall and hurt themselves but become strong. Try to stay out of all quarrels, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for one who is not holy will not see the Lord. (LB) Hebrews 12:12-14
Something New
Because of the thorns…. The Midianites Judges 2:3
Something to Do
With my new grip, keep going.
I hope everyone had a wonderful, blessed Easter-Jesus is alive!
My Takeaways: Couragious Faith
Something Old: Deborah and Jael played a major role in Sisera’s defeat. Do you ever wondered why they aren’t mentioned in Hebrews chapter 11?
Something New? God rewarded Deborah and Jael’s faith with victory. When faced with insurmountable circumstances they put their full trust in God and where not fearfull, because they knew God was with them. Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Something To Do: Step into the role God has called me to. Use the gifts He has given me. Have strength in my faith in God and trust him to deliver me, from whatever my situation may be.
