“Then Joshua told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.”
Joshua 3:5

My Takeaways

Something Old

Joshua 4:12
The tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half tribe of Manasseh are doing what they said they would

Something New

Sometimes our God’s greatest miracles occur during the worst times.

Truths for river crossing:

  • He will make away. (3:13)
  • He keeps the peace as we cross. (3:17, 4:7, 4:10)
  • He wants us to remember our crossing. (4:1-7)
  • He will deliver us safely. (4:18)
  • Our miracle is not just about us? (4:24)

Something to Do

Today let’s decide to pick up our dead dreams, faded hopes, unmet expectations and cross our Jordan.

  1. My Takeaways: Joshua Obeys

Something Old: Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho by listening and obeying God. God’s ways, though unusual, won the battle for the Israelites.

Something New: — “And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and he said to him, ‘What do you command your servant, my Lord?’” (Joshua 5:4). Maybe I need to stop telling God what I want, and start asking God what he wants? Joshua fell on his face. Before the walls of Jericho could fall down, Joshua had to fall down. Do I need to fall on my face, to surrender, to stop praying my will be done and start praying “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven? Victory always comes through God’s plan of deliverance—never my plans.

Something To Do: If I want to overcome my obstacles and testings, I must submit to God’s way by faith.

  2. Loved this whole post.
” Do I need to fall on my face, to surrender…..?” My answer would be a resounding, YES.
