aw-hab: human love for each other and God
Love, affection, devotion all mean a deep and enduring emotional regard, usually for another person.
- Love may apply to various kinds of regard: the charity of the Creator, reverent adoration toward God or toward a person, the relation of parent and child, the regard of friends for each other, romantic feelings for another person, etc.
- Affection is a fondness for others that is enduring and tender, but calm.
- Devotion is an intense love and steadfast, enduring loyalty to a person; it may also imply consecration to a cause.
Something to Do
Love God.
The Lord may lead me through a wilderness for a period of time- it may be to humble or test me as well. ONLY to bring me to a good land( a better place). I need to remember as I’m going through the wilderness ALL the Lord has done for me. Knowing He has something much better in store for me. I need to trust Him always.
Amen
Deuteronomy6:5
Something to do
Love God with all my heart, soul and strength.
If I love him I can love others.
My Takeaways: It gets very lonely out here in cyber space. I very often feel all alone as if I’m just writing in the wind. Anyway….today’s study was like yesterday’s, beautiful!
Something Old: Deuteronomy 6:5 “And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.” I must make a conscience effort to love God with all that I am. Think about him daily, and honor what he wants from me. Jesus included mind with this verse. He wants my hearts.
Something New: Deuteronomy 6-9
“And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you’re going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
God’s commandments are very important. It’s my responsibility to share what I know about Jesus with my children and their children. It is my responsibility as a parent to share the Bible with my children and their children. It is my responsibility to live out the guidelines that he has set before me so that my children and their children can see Jesus in me. I must not rely on the church -or the school -or the world to teach truth. It is my responsibility to build a loving, God-fearing environment in my home.
Something To Do: Make God a part of my daily life. Include him in everything I say and do. I can’t separate God – He must be present in my life at all times, not just on Sundays. It’s when I include him in everything that my children and their children realize that He is everything!
Hi there! You are definitely not “writing in the wind!” Since Wendy didn’t write new lessons this year I love reading different perspectives on her lessons! Don’t get me wrong….. I have actually loved reviewing the 2017 lessons from Wendy as I always catch “Something New”, but I also enjoy reading what others write. Thank you…l and please keep writing!
Thank you
You are not alone! I check your comments every day and am grateful for them! Keep them coming. Wish I could post more often, but my world is upside down right now……..still clinging to Jesus and blessed by RTW.
Sorry to hear things are not going well for you. I will put you on my prayer list. Thanks for the encouragement.
I, too, love to read your insights! Thank you for sharing. Those of you who post regularly often help me see more clearly and gain even greater understanding. I am not always able to post, but I actually feel a connection with you, through your words, as we learn and grow together. Thank you!
Thank you
