Life Is…

for the life of the body is its blood…
Leviticus 17:11

My Takeaways

Something Old

  • Life is in the Blood

It is the blood, given in exchange of life, that makes purification possible. (Lev 17:11b)

  • Life is Obedience

If you obey my decrees and my regulations, you will find life through them, I am the LORD. (Lev 18:5)

Life: to live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, live for ever, be quickened, be alive, be restored to life or health

  • Life is because Jesus

John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

Something New

I love the way the ceremonial sacrifice points to Jesus.

Something to Do

Live the life!

  1. The teachings from this book of Leviticus about cleansings and purification are so relevant to our lives. In this day and age when there is such a glut of impurity and iniquity coming from all directions.

  2. My Takeaways: Holiness

Some thing Old: The 10 commandments revisted.

Something New: ” I am the Lord Your God” I notice this phrase a lot. It must be important. God wanted the Israelites to know He was different. So they were to be different too and stand out, above the rest. He is the one true God prepared to take care of them He is the creator. He knews what works in this universe that he made. He loved them. Don’t question His ways, just conform to his life. He is the Lord our God. What wonderful news. I have a true God. One that belongs to me. I think the Lord said this phrase a lot to the Israelites so they would have faith and trust in who is is. The one, and only almighty! He is the Lord, my God and your God. Trust, believe and obey.

Something To Do: Keep God’s commandments, trust and obey. Remember their is no one who loves me more than my creator. He knows what’s best for my life, listen, learn and put his practices into my actions.
