TGFABT – Psalm 56

By this…

“By this I will know that God is for me.”
Psalm 56:9b

How did David survive the back stabbing, word twisting, and all the plots against Him?

How can we survive the back stabbing, word twisting, and plots against us?

David says, “By this…”

  • Trust in what I know.  Get to know God so God is what I know. (V9)
  • Believe He is for me. Let Him be for me rather than me being for myself. (V9)
  • Boast in His Word. Be in His Word so I can best in it. I can’t boast in something I don’t know.(V10)

1 Samuel 27

Truth Tuesday

Journal: What truth is God teaching you through Psalm 56?

It’s OK to admit fear. It is not OK to surrender to it.  Great is He who is in me than fear!!!

Word Study Wednesday

On this is so very good!!!”Thy vows [are] upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.” Psalm 56:12 (KJV)

Vows represent promises to God or things promised.

David’s promises to God are upon Him. God has also promised David something. Promises are upon Him. God’s promises are upon us. Let’s praise Him!!!

Thankful Thursday

Journal: Tell God something that you are thankful for:

Today I am thankful for a husband who works hard to support his family.

Faith Stretching/Strengthening Friday

Journal: How is God stretching/strengthening your faith?

A friend shared when our faith is stretched it is being strengthened. I love that! Our faith is made stronger through the trials we face.  Only the One and Only can use trials to build.

My faith is being strengthened as I walk in submission to the Holy Spirit’s promptings.
