These People

In the same way, these people…
Jude 1:8a

My Takeaways

Something Old

Look out for “these people.” They worm their way into the church.

  • Claim authority from their dreams
  • Living immorally
  • Defy authority
  • Scoff at supernatural beings (dignitaries: apostles or church leaders)
  • Scoff at what they don’t understand
  • Follow their own instinct

They are dangerous. Care only about themselves. Clouds that never give rain. Etc. (Jude 1:12-13)

Something New

I wonder about the argument concerning Moses’ body that occurred between Michael and the devil. Hmm. (Jude 1:9-10)

Something to Do

Look for “these people.”

  1. Happy day after Christmas everyone. Has anyone else noticed that almost every book in the New Testament addresses false teachers/teachings? That’s certainly not a mistake – in those times and in these, they are prevalent and carry too much power in the world, unfortunately. It was the Word of God that pulled me out of a heretical church and I’m so thankful to RTW for that!

My red flag WAS the pastor and I approached him individually and asked him to explain so that I can understand his interpretation of certain scripture he had taught that particular day – and all he gave me was his opinion, based on how he wanted to view God, the Father. The only scripture they used was from The Passion Translation (which is not a translation and is a completely heretical, false writing). I went through his other teachings and it was like a veil was lifted and I saw how wrong it all was and immediately left. I am now in a reformed church being the taught the Word of God in expository manner and it is wonderful!

The way to see the wolves among the sheep is to be a Berean …. Be aware, as Wendy said. The truly are clouds without water.

    Blessings to all!

    1. Wow. You actually experienced this, and had the courage to approach the minister about it. Thank goodness you had the ‘eyes to see’ and the ‘ears to hear’.

  2. This teaching is an eye opener. And I completely agree that the key is to get in the word and know it for ourselves. So, knowing the truth will enable us to spot the lies.
