And we can be sure that we know Him if we obey his commandments. 1 John 2:3
- Obedience confirms we know God.
- Disobedience conceals that we know God.
But those who obey God’s Word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living for Him. 1 John 2:5
- Obedience demonstrates my love Him.
- Disobedience demonstrates I don’t love Him… that much, enough to obey.
Those obey God’s commandment remain in fellowship with Him, and He with them. 1 John 3:24
- Obedience secures fellowship with God.
- Disobedience breaks fellowship with God.
Christians are said to be rooted as it were in him, knit to him by the Spirit they have received from him.
