RTW September 2

Location Matters

But these tribes were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors.
1 Chronicles 5:25a

My Takeaways

Something Old

How is it possible to be so unfaithful, and yet trust God to help you?

Something New

Numbers 33 (March 10)

  • Distance can eventually lead to complete departure.
  • Distance can cause us to turn from what we know is right and true.
  • Distance can tell us the world’s ways aren’t too terribly awful.
  • Distance can become comfortable and normal.

If you drift, don’t drift too far or stay gone too long.

The distance is never too great that you can’t return, or too far out of your Father’s reach.

Something to Do

Fight to stay close.

  1. I also learned one time that in Mark 5 in the account of Jesus casting the demon into the herd of pigs took place in the region east of the Jordan. These tribes had distanced themselves to the point of raising pigs!! Something that would have been abhorant to a Jew…pigs…..wow! What a trap distance is!!!

  2. Wendy I like when you tell us the history of how you came to pick which thing to teach on. Today, I love how you pulled a lesson on distance, from that reading! Thank you.

  3. I loved this lesson so much as it struck home with me. I won’t go into details but suffice to say I allowed a distance to grow between myself and God years ago. Wendy’s right though. It was a fight, but what I always knew was right was still inside me and I was able to return to a right relationship with God. Forever grateful!!
