Word Up – You Have What It Takes

Today’s Word Up teaching is from 1 Samuel 10. Click on the link of the post’s title, (You Have What It Takes) and you will be launched to my site for the teaching.

“Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said, “I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession.” 1 Samuel 10:1

Sometimes the appointment of the assignment is easier than its completion. When our nerves set in and doubt clouds our mind, let’s remember a few things

  • Remember your initial moment with God.
Saul had very memorable moment. (1 Sam.10:1)
  • Remember God’s confirmation to your calling.
God confirmed His plan for Saul in three unique ways.  (1 Sam.10:2-16)
  • Remember God selected you for a reason, His reason.
Jump out from behind the luggage and walk confidently in your calling. He has equipped you to carry it out. (1 Sam.10:17-24

God’s kingdom needs your specific task, skill set and calling. God surveyed the people and selected Saul for the job. The world needs someone to the job God has called you do. It’s a special assignment. God surveyed the people and chose you. Embrace your assignment, it was designed just for you because you have what it takes.

Think About It

When God chooses you for a special assignment, what is your first response to Him?

Do you hide in the “luggage?” If so, why?

  1. Obedience is the word. When asked to be Small Group leaders in our church, my husband wasn’t so sure. But the leader who asked us shared this with us, “God doesn’ t call the equipped, He equips the called❣️He meets you when you step out in faith! Meet us he did❣️
He continues to equip my husband daily, in his daily Bible study, equipping him for leading our Small Group❣️ God is faithful! What a blessing it has been.
