My Current Situation

Why do you quote this proverb concerning the land of Israel: ‘The parents have eaten sour grapes, but their children’s mouths pucker at the taste’?
Ezekiel 18:2

My Takeaways

Something Old

The righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness.  Ezekiel 18:20b

Something New

My current situation

  • Reveals my choices
  • Relieves my parents and others of blame
  • Resolves when I take responsibility and repent
  • Reminds me that righteousness is up to me

I have the power to create our current situation and change current situation.

  • What or who am I blaming for my current situation?
  • To whom or what am I hold accountable for peace and joy of my life?

Something to Do

Don’t play the blame game. Own my situation, how it occurred and repent.

  1. Repent and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! (18:30b). It’s my sin that destroys me!

  2. WOW Wendy! Powerful message that I needed to hear! Thank you for speaking truth!
I have written your words in my bible and I need to remind myself daily that my current situation reveals my choices, that I have the power to create and change my current situation and that I will own my own situation, how it occurred and repent and I will be accountable for my own peace and joy. Bless you Wendy!
