Even Though

Even though…
Habakkuk 3:17

My Takeaways

Something Old

Habakkuk reminds me that it is OK to ask God, “What is going on?” as long as we demonstrate our reverence and respect.

Something New

Even though

  • My marriage is falling apart
  • The cancer returned
  • My parent’s health is failing
  • I still don’t have a job
  • My prodigal hasn’t come home
  • I’m still dreaming the same dream
  • My bank account is low and the stack of bills is high

God is bigger than our problem.

He is sovereign over the solution.

I can

  • Rejoice in the LORD (Jehovah). (Habakkuk 3:18)
  • Be joyful in the God (Elohim) of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:18)

Because

  • The Sovereign Lord is my strength! (Habakkuk 3:19)
  • He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. (Habakkuk 3:19)

Something to Do

Dance and skip through life with the Sovereign Lord of strength.

  1. Oh how I have to work at this. I struggle with patience and putting my trust in God when situations arise. I hate to admit but so much of my time is wasted with worrying. I know better! I become impatient and find my timing for resolution doesn’t usually match God’s. Oh how I strive to have the faith that can take things in stride, where I can stay calm, trusting completely in God and being able dance/praise Him even when life situations are overwhelming. Thanks Wendy. I’m memorizing Habakkuk 3:19 and wrote your words down to remind me “Even though…I will dance and skip through life with the Sovereign Lord of strength.”
