RTW August 16

A Good Watchman

After seven days the LORD gave me a message.
Ezekiel 3:16

My Takeaways

Something Old

I think it is so interesting that God never calls Ezekiel by name. He only calls him “son of man”.

Something New

A good watchman is: look out, keep watch, spy

  • Engaged with the people (7 days)
    How engaged am I?
  • Eager to help
How eager am I to help?
  • Exact in message
How exact am I with the gospel message?

Something to Do

Be a good watchman for my people.

  1. I’ve been struggling at work with the ladies I have lunch with – none of whom are true believers and followers of Christ. I returned to this job about a month ago after being gone for a year. Prior, I did not have lunch with this group as I was in school and spent my lunch hour doing homework – and I also found them super negative and gossip-y so I stayed away. This time around, I have been having lunch with them and struggling to find a way to minister to them. I have had a few opportunities to lovingly correct or give a new perspective when one starts complaining or tearing down someone else – but it’s been difficult. I pray for the LORD to help me be the light – and not only that, but to share the truth of the gospel in whatever way I can. Too often, I just sit there and keep my mouth shut – so Wendy saying “Don’t just hang out and keep my mouth shut” was super convicting for me.
