My Takeaways

Something Old

Worship (noun): reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage

Stop going through the motions. Seem, Act Like, Or Pretend

False Worship

  • Seem like I am delighted to learn about God
  • Act righteous
  • Pretend I want to be near God
  • Fast to impress others and please myself
  • Go through the motions of repentance

True Worship

  • Fight for justice
  • Work for fairness in the workplace
  • Be an advocate for the oppressed
  • Share food with those who are hungry, my home with the homeless, and clothes with the naked
  • Help my family when they need it
  • Stop bickering, backbiting, and finger pointing; grow-up
  • Use my mouth to encourage and spread the gospel
  • Assist those who are in trouble

Something New

Isaiah 59:1-3 could have been written about America.

Something to Do

Worship in Truth. Stop going through the motions.

  1. Awesome lesson Wendy!! I am in such a season and have asked Gods until I am blue in the face what he wants me to do.

The resounding answer I keep getting is “do what is in front of you to do”. It’s like Wendy’s toilet paper on the floor experience.

I keep looking for some huge ministry opportunity and today’s reading and lesson convicted me to keep my heart and eyes and ears open to what is in front of me every single day and walk out my obedience!!
