Praise Like You Are Saved

Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes!
2 Samuel 6:22a

My Takeaways

Something Old

Throw caution to the wind, dance and leap before the Lord today. You only need an audience of One.

Something New

Let the whole earth sing to the LORD! Each day proclaim the good news that He says. 1 Chronicles 16:23

I love this! God saved them from their enemies, and Jesus saves us from our sin.

Something To Do

Never be ashamed to worship the Lord.

  1. The Lord knows what we need and when we need it. He has encouraged me today with Wendy’s testimony, David’s song of Thanksgiving. My You Version Bible Verse for the Day and a study on their called Praise Filled Life. I was discouraged and focusing on the problem instead of focusing on who my God is. Today I want to sing and praise Him.

  2. Two quotes from Guzik today that i need to soak in a bit…

“We don’t think that dancing is strange when the baseball player rounds the bases after the game winning home run. We don’t think it is strange when the winning touchdown is scored or when our own child scores a goal. We think nothing at hands raised at a concert or a touchdown. We should not think them strange in worship to God.”

“Michal’s barrenness was not necessarily the result of Divine judgment. It may be that David never had marital relations with her again. Nevertheless, the principle stands: there is often barrenness in the life and ministry of the overly critical”

  3. —So many times in the OT, doing things just as the Lord commanded is noted. And it was noted again in today’s reading. When David realized the mistake in how the Ark was carried because they failed to ask God how to move it properly, he changed course and had it carried “just as the LORD had instructed Moses.
—I want to follow this example. My desire is to seek God’s guidance in all things. But when I fail, to repent quickly, seek His guidance and move forward as He leads me.
—Use David’s song in 1 Chronicles 16 to worship God today!

  4. My To Do, My Job Description as a Child of God…..

    All taken from today’s reading…

Dance with great abandon before God, with great enthusiasm, led by the spirit, leap and dance ecstatically to celebrate all that God has done.
    Give thanks
    Proclaim
    Let the whole world know
    Sing
    Tell everyone
    Exult Him
    Rejoice
    Search
    Seek continuously
    Remember
    Recognize
    Give Him glory
    Bring my offering
    Worship the Lord
    Be glad
    Shout His praise
    Burst out with JOY!
    Cry out
    Shout AMEN!

And all the people said Amen!
