  1. We made it! The last day of reading for 2018! I love that this is what is included in the last day. Such joy and victory and hope were in this days reading. Jesus will come and he will make all things new! As we enter a new year there is hope of a fresh start and it makes me long even more for the hope I have a things been set right in my eternal home one day.

I was a little confused by Rev 22:2 where it says the leaves of the trees will be used to heal the nations. It did some research and it seems that the word heal is better translated health-giving/wellness. The Greek word is where we get our word therapeutic from. It seemed the commentaries all agreed that the leaves would be used to provide eternal wellness to God’s people.

    1. That’s helpful.

I wonder if it also goes back to the story of Eden and those gig leaves that Adam and Eve were wearing in the Garden.

Something about them upset God so much that he exchanged their garments for animal skins (behind the scenes obviously sacrificing the animals to do so and instituting the sacrificial system).

Jewish teaching on the matter says that the Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil was a fig tree. So…wearing the leaves was like your little ones wearing milk mustaches when they snack without permisssion.

That would explain Jesus cursing the fig tree during his last visit to Jerusalem as well. Again…seeing the leaves us what prompted his anger.

    2. Yes, we made! It’s been a fun year. I learned a lot. I want to thank all my RTW friends for posting. I grew so much this year learning from you all. So what’s in store for next year? I’ve decided to start my own RTW Bible Study. In fact the ladies are coming to my house tomorrow at 9:30 to begin. It’s a small group, 7 in all counting myself. We plan to meet every Tuesday to discuss what we have learned throughout the week. We’re using the GroupMe app to discuss any prayers, praises, concerns during the week. I’m excited to step out in faith with this new endeavor. I wish you all well in this upcoming year. Remember whatever you do – stay in the word and continue to grow in your relationship with the Lord!

      1. I wish you well In you new study LKennedy! I have learned so much from the things you shared. You will be an excellent facilitator for a group! Best wishes as we all keep safe in the Word!❤️

  2. Something new: rev. 21:5 “Behold, I am making all things new.” Vs. “I will make.” Implies that it has already begun to happen. I love that.
