Word Study Wednesday
Psalm 9:10
“Those who know Your name will trust in You, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seekYou.”
I know there are a lot of words here. I don’t want to overwhelm you but as I dug into my truth for the week the verse unfolded itself profoundly.
Know- yada-(yaw-dah’)
to acknowledge, be acquainted with, recognize, be aware
Name- shem
reputation, fame, glory, renown
Forsake- azab- (aw-zab’)
leave destitute, fail,refuse
Seek- Darash (daw-rash’)
seek with care, inquire- to seek information by questioning; ask
Putting it all together
God will not leave, refuse, or fail anyone who has knowledge of, recognizes, and is acquainted with His renown, glory, and reputation and seeks Him with care, inquiring information by asking questions.
My Response to Him
- Stay acquainted with God by maintaining fellowship with Him
- Always acknowledge His glory, renown and reputation
- Respectfully seek Him by asking questions about things we want to understand
His Response to Me
He will not ever fail, refuse, or leave us destitute.
Psalm Study
Yesterday’s questions are archived on the Study Questions page under Psalm Study. Are you loving this study as much as I am?
RTW Teaching
Today is February 29th. There is no teaching for today because of Leap Year.

Wendy – love your insight to today’s study. Not sure if you saw my late night post from yesterday…but again I am reminded of Psalm 22:5b: “They trust in You and were not disappointed.” Jesus is our Hope – He is always working on our behalf for our good.
Thank you for the reminder that “He will not ever fail, refuse or leave us desolate.” Holding on to that truth today…
Blessings on your day!
Lynne
This is so good. When I first read through this Psalm, this is the verse that caught my attention the most. I truly love that one of the definitions for forsake is refuse. So wonderful is our God. To know He will not refuse me when I seek Him.
It is somewhat difficult to compose words to express how my heart rejoices when I realize how The Word of God is truly God’s way of revealing Himself to us and there is no stone unturned in any area that we need for understanding of Him. This in itself speaks volumes of just how great His love is for us who believe. How precious that love is, how enveloping. The song “You are Amazing God” just keeps rolling through my head. Once again, swept away and breathless.
Thank you, Wendy. I love ALL the words for this Wednesday!
I just wanted to share an email devotional I just got the other day on the same exact verse!!!

Good morning ladies , Stacy thank you for sharing the link. I had to agree with him on one point. We do tend to trust as kids but when we get to be adults we have this sudden road block that seems to blink ” are you sure?
Just a question do we tend to trust humans because we can see and thus see the results instantly, Yet as humans we have trouble trusting the one – the ONLY one who created everything if He created us top trust as children why cant we still tap into that child like trait and remember what it was like to trust as a child ??? We need to remember the child we once were. The greatest Father in the World is asking us to trust and believe in Him. He will not let us fall.
Just a few thoughts. ,
