Spotlight Verses

My Spotlight Verses for 2012

The term spotlight verse is not found anywhere in scripture or religious study book.  It is something the Lord gave me a few years ago when He started giving me a verse to pray and focus on each year.  As a spotlight illumines what is in the dark, so my spotlight verse illumines dark areas of my life the Lord wants to bring in alignment with His Word and His will.

Without fail, at the close of each year, He gives me a verse to pray, study, and apply.  For 2012,  He gave me two:

Ephesians 3:16-19
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.  Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

1 Timothy 2:1
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.

God has clearly instructed me pray for you, yes you.  You are “all people.”  It is my honor to pray for you in 2012.
